About Frydays · Gosport
Your fish and chip shop by the Gosport Ferry
A family-run chippy at 78 High Street, frying cod, haddock and plaice to order for locals, ferry passengers and anyone who follows the smell of fresh chips.

Our story
Family-run, right on the waterfront
Frydays is run by Michael and Androulla Pittaros, and it has been a fixture at the harbour end of Gosport High Street for more than ten years. The idea hasn't changed in that time: good fish, crisp batter, proper chips and portions that send you home full.
We sit opposite the Gosport Ferry terminal and Falkland Gardens, which makes us the easy stop for a sit-down lunch, a takeaway by the water, or dinner picked up on the way home from Portsmouth.
What we fry
Classic fish and chips, and plenty more
Cod and chips is the big seller, with haddock, plaice, scampi and cod roe alongside. Fancy something else? There's battered sausage and saveloy, Pukka pies, burgers, chicken nuggets and quarter chicken, plus mushy peas, curry sauce, gravy, onion rings, pickled eggs and a proper chip butty.
Vegetarians get a menu of their own, from veggie sausages and burgers to spring rolls, breaded or garlic mushrooms and a cheese and onion fry. For little ones there are boxed kids' meals, and there's an OAP fish and chips deal too.

As seen in The News, Portsmouth
A local favourite on the High Street
When The News visited for its eating-out column, the reviewer rated our fish cake above others they'd tried around the Solent, liked the soft, fluffy chips and was pleasantly surprised to find two saveloys on the plate. Their verdict: a dependable, good-value place for a filling meal.
